About GreenSport 2030

GreenSport 2030 is a forward-looking initiative designed to bring sustainability and digital innovation into the heart of grassroots sports. The project introduces the GreenSport Hub, an AI-powered platform that helps sports organizations monitor their environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and implement sustainable practices.

By combining research, technology, and education, GreenSport empowers coaches, managers, and policymakers to make informed decisions and drive long-term change in the sports sector.

Challenges in Modern Sports

Limited Digital Monitoring Tools

Many sports organizations lack accessible digital solutions to effectively measure, track, and manage their environmental impact and sustainability performance.

Excessive Waste Generation

Sports activities often produce significant waste and misuse resources, highlighting the need for more efficient and environmentally responsible practices.

Insufficient Sustainability Education

Coaches, staff, and participants frequently lack proper training and knowledge needed to implement and promote sustainable practices in sports settings.

Weak Policy Integration

Sustainability is often poorly embedded within sports governance frameworks, resulting in inconsistent strategies and limited accountability across organizations and institutions.

Low Inclusive Participation

Marginalized communities are underrepresented in sustainability initiatives, limiting diversity, equity, and the overall effectiveness of environmental efforts in sports.

How we work?

GreenSport 2030 follows a three-phase methodology designed for practical implementation and long-term impact.

1.

Digital Sustainability and Training
(Months 1-12)

We develop and pilot the GreenSport Hub, conduct baseline sustainability audits, and train sports managers and trainers to use sustainability data for better decisions.

2.

Circular Economy in Sports
(Months 12-24)

We introduce practical circular economy models, launch the Green Equipment Exchange, and support clubs in reducing waste and improving resource efficiency.

3.

Policy Integration and Continuity
(Months 24-36)

We scale policy engagement through decision-maker dialogue, secure federation commitments, and establish funding pathways to continue impact after the project period.
